I wanna build a house
Far off in the woods
Down a little track

I wanna hear the birds
Rustle in the bush
Little stream out back

With apricots in summer
Berries in the spring
And tulips in the ground

Where somebody there loves me
Likes to make me happy
And keeps the fire on

Pre: Bm, Em, C, G
Wo-ah when the rain is beating down
Oo-oh I love that sound love that sound

Chorus C, G, C, G, D, G
All I really want
Is a place where I
Is a feeling of
A little place to call my own
A special place where I belong

V2: D, Am, C, G
I wanna build a house
Made of solid stone
To protect us both

From everything out there
From people who don’t care
To drag you down with them

And if you caught a cold
I would make you tea
With honey on the side

And bring it to your room
Turn the TV off
And open up the blinds

  1. Quite like the upbeat nature of it. Like the pre-chorus. Instrumental bridge needs to be more adventurous – possibly a fancy electric guitar solo.

  2. Another definite for me. Lovely contemporary country ballad. Maybe brush shuffle drums, bass, mandolin, strings or violin.

  3. Great song. Needs and intro and a lift at the chorus which can be achieved with the arrangement. Electric but not heavy.

  4. No long roads.
    No overexplaining.

This is where rhythm meets timing,
